SNO Collaboration soccer game
The SNO Collaboration soccer game was played on the first night of our meetings in Sudbury. The game pitted the SNO graduate students against the post-docs (plus one faculty). It was a classic struggle between youthful athleticism and less-youthful experience and guile. Ok... "youthful athleticism" is a little bit of a stretch given that it was a bunch of physicists playing soccer...
As often happens, hardened experience triumphed over youthful exuberance. The score was officially announced later in the collaboration meeting: 5 +/- 1 to 2 +/- 1 (the locations of the posts and crossbars were significant sources of systematic uncertainty).
Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately depending on how you look at it) some SNO soccer fans brought digital cameras to the game. It appears that I look as slow as I feel...

is a change in phone area code necessarily a change in rate of charge? unfortunately, the answer is no. this place essentially has the underpinnings of the nuclear club family. one digresses not even this far but just in recent memory of the war economy on indent,the present state of the web economy and arms control. one would find a reason to join a club at least once simply because it would exist even for the profoundly disturbed, not even as much as for its popular or utilitarian use. in such an entangled state, a bohemian would even find himself in the sticky mess of this zoo that is the mind. you, meanwhile, have everyday reason to survive. this does it for you, 3x times a day...(SSA-348)
