I am defined by my actions...
I saw Batman Begins last night. Great movie. A good story and well told. By the scientist in me could help but cringe. At one point a microwave emitter is used to vaporize the water supply on a ship at sea. Several guys set of the futuristic device and were rewarded from all this water turning to steam. It was pretty cool.
No, it is only a minor stretch that you could do something like this. After all, your microwave oven does basically this.
The problem is for the poeple standing near the device. We are 70% water, and our skin most definately does not block microwaves. So all humans should have been vaporized as well. Hmmm.
"So all humans should have been vaporized as well."
shouldn't that me -- So all humans should have been _dehydrated_ as well. :-P

Exploded? All the water seemed to turn (explosively) into steam... ;-)

Er, about the title: I though you were defined by the *symmetries* of your actions. Except, of course, if some quantization anomaly breaks current conservation.

that would give "blowing off steam" a new meaning :-D

I like that -- "I am defined by my symmitries" I think I'll add that to my home page next update. ;-)
And I don't remember anyone making that joke in the Movie -- but you're right -- they should have!
