Brookhaven doesn't have a reputation for physical beauty (not helped by a plethora of archival images [however cool] of magnets and machines, and nearly none about the site itself). And yet, there's been a lot of effort in the last few years in sprucing up the place. I'm kind of sucker for these pink (apple?) blossoms which appear in late-April, early-May, wow passers-by, and then fall to earth only a few weeks later. Who thought up these kind of schedules: New York media promoters?
