Ofcourse I could tell you that last week I put cables in the sct testbox, wrote some document and followed a few courses. I could even told you that this coming week I will give a tutorial class in "High energy physics" for third-year students of the University of Amtserdam. But instead of telling you this, I would like to tell you that I'm currently playing World of Warcraft and that anyone with an european version of this game can now find me on the Kil'Jaeden server where I play Giuggiola, the troll-girl....
And ofcourse I'll only be there at the later hours of the evening because science goes first!

These are quantum diaries, perhaps diaries that popped up into the "virtual world" through some funny coherent states. And as we all know from TV, quantum world is strange, counter-intuitive. So, for political correctness, we can say that all these ancient people were in the same time greeks, egyptians, turkish, dutch, eastern-europeans or whatever. Indeed, for all those nostalgic physicists out there, fond of the Coppenhagen interpretation of QM, we can regard this aspect as a representation of Bohr's complementarity principle... All right, fine, if you don't like this Heisenberg-like reasoning you can consider that Leucipus, Democritus et al. were not a priori greeko-turko-bla, but only in a particular context, after the observer (ie. his/her cultural background) interacts with them. However, in my humble opinion, nostalgia isn't what it used to be. And as I've read in a newspaper, right next to the Horoscope, in a Manny-Worlds interpretation all the possibilities are realised... voila.. those ancient people were/are after all greeks and turks and so on... Well, to be honest, my educated guess is that it's more likely they were eastern-europeans, moreover, at a 3 sigma confidence level they were born in the very same city I was.
One more irrelevant comment: George and Tony are not Alexanders...no way!... they are good friends... hmm... like Dumb and Dumber for instance.
PS: The above is just a joke, plain and simple, and should be treated as such. No offense intended (except for the Bush part).
PPS: Hi, Maaike, good to find you here. A couple of months ago we've attended the TA's course at UvA. Well.. actually after the first session I couldn't make it to the next ones.. I was not in Amsterdam... Honestly :-)

I totally agree with you. I am not advocating here a passive reaction toward "eccentric" claims, nor a "make fun and let go" approach to them. But I do believe that sometimes an impersonal humorous touch is more effective in triggering a self-correction process than the formal way of pointing out erroneous statements... And speaking of evil... I didn't find any "new and revolutionary theory" on the site ... it's true that I didn't go through all the reader's comments to the blogs... so the hope is not dead. ;-) From time to time to "make fun out of strife" is recommended. However, the excess is just around the corner.

oh!Physicist plays games too.haha~~~i just doubted if i could play World of Warcraft as i want to be a scientist.it will begin all-access open beta test in China on April 29th. Now i decide to enjoy it. thanks very much!
