This relates to the ancient greek's idea of science as subset of "anti-idiotism" characterized by connectivity.

Truth: connection with objective reality transcendenting
merely subjective "dreams".

Logos: connecting of truths to proofs, transcendenting by their expression by language merely subjective evidence.

Community: connecting expressed thoughts by teaching/discussing to other people, transcendenting the individual by creating communities.

As illustration one may look at the opening scene of Parmenides book.

The contrast was the private man = "idiot".
