Yesterday evening I drove to Morris, where Gina lives. Gina is a very good friend of Mariarosa and I. She has four lovely kids, and whenever I have a chance I spend an evening with her and her friends, particularly Nikki, Jennifer, and Eddie. They are such fun to be with!
We saw a very funny movie together, "Meet the Fockers". I must admit that when they told me the title of the movie we were going to go see I had to ask, half-mockingly, whether it was a restricted movie... Misunderstood the family's name :) We did joke about that, but I was not completely sure about the right spelling until we lined up for tickets, when finally I came out with "Oh, meet the fOckers, now I get it!", which provoked a burst of hilarity in the people around us.
The movie was indeed very funny. It was great seeing De Niro and Hoffman together in a movie (anybody remembers other movies thay did together ? I don't), and the funniest scenes involved a minuscule dog which tried to hump anything it could. At one point, the dog grabbed a baby's Einstein puppet and started to copulate with it, missionary-style... So much for paying due homage to the world year of physics! (BTW I do think the director thoughtfully decided that Einstein's puppet had to pose in a layback posture while being humped, rather than be taken from behind. I believe he may have thought that suggesting a real act of sodomy would be too outrageous, although I think it's just a detail).
Later, we had a few beers at a local place called the Lagoon. Here are a few pictures of us:

It was great seeing you last night. Always have a great time when your in town. I would like to congratulate you on all your accomplishments you have made and we are proud of you.

Tommaso...... I had a fantastic time with you last night. I really miss the fact that you do not live here anymore. I am really looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the family when you come back next month. We will have to get Mariarosa out of the house and go out somewhere and let Sophia babysit for you two. I have to concur that how you say "Fockers" is incredibly hilarious because no matter how you try to say it...it comes out sounding the same every time... like the "restricted" word. Yes too the movie was hilarious. So hopefully I can catch up with you before you leave Wednesday, if not we have next month. You'll hear from me on your birthday WHICH IS FEBRUARY 5TH EVERYONE!!!! :) Kiss everyone for me! (hey when you come back can you please bring me some Trancinos and Kinder chocolates?)
