A week-end in Paris : lucky you ! I'm an exiled parisian (for the good of physics - at least I try). Each time I go back, I have dinner at either : Bofinger or La Coupole. This type of restaurants (brasserie) are unique to Paris, at least I was told so. Not really cheap but well worth it for the ambiance. You need a reservation or you will wait in line.

ps: Good point for them they serve food up to midnight which is great if you spent your evening working on your analysis/plot/ report...
